Custom & Import Tax

    Last Updated: May 6, 2025

    1. Customer Responsibility

    • Import duties, taxes, and customs fees (not included in your order total) are:

      • Determined by your country’s regulations

      • Payable by the recipient upon delivery

      • Non-refundable if you refuse the package due to these charges

    2. Customs Declaration Process

We ship internationally via USPS First Class Mail with:

    • Declared Value: Typically 20–150 USD (based on package weight/size)

    • Customs Label: Marked as “Gift” where permitted by law*

*Some countries prohibit gift declarations for commercial shipments.

    3. How to Reduce Potential Fees

    • Request a Specific Declared Value:
      Email support@boschfilter.com before shipment with:

      • Your order number

      • Desired declared value (within 20–150 USD)

    • Research Local Thresholds:
Many countries exempt low-value shipments (e.g., Canada: <$40 CAD; EU: <€150).

    4. Customs Disputes & Assistance

If your package is held by customs:

    1. We Will:

      • Cover any clearance fees imposed by USPS

      • Provide a commercial invoice (emailed within 24 hrs of request)

      • Liaise with USPS to resolve classification issues

    2. You May Need To:

      • Submit additional documentation (e.g., ID, proof of payment)

      • Pay any non-USPS fees (e.g., broker charges in certain countries)

    Key Improvements:

    1. Added Legal Safeguards:

      • Clarifies “gift” labeling is only where legal

      • Explicitly states non-refundability for duty refusals

    2. Enhanced User Guidance:

      • Provides actionable steps to research local thresholds

      • Specifies exact email requirements for declared value requests

    3. Streamlined Dispute Process:

      • Clearly separates responsibilities (what we cover vs. customer obligations)

    4. Compliance Focus:

      • Identifies restricted destinations upfront
